Operation Langda: 10 Days, 20 Encounters, 10 Criminals Killed; Beware of UP Police (AI/X/TIN)
Operation Langda in UP Police: UP Police has intensified the Operation Langda in the state to control the criminal activities in the state. Under the Operation Langda, in the past 10 days, 10 most wanted criminals with high bounties have been killed in police encounters, including . They were identified as Vineet Bhati, who had a bounty of Rs 2.5 lakh, and Iftekhar, Imran, Arshad and Nayim with bounties of Rs 1 lakh each. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's 'no tolerance' policy has started showing its effect in the state.
Reportedly, more than 20 encounters have been done in the state in just 48 hours. Notably, criminals are being punished without any descrimination of religion or caste, as per the police. If you will commit any crime, you will be punished immediatley under this operation by the UP police. Stressing about same, Yogi Adityanath has earlier said, "Dirty deeds will not be tolerated in Uttar Pradesh. Whoever breaks the law will be punished."
Recently, in Kaushambi, a newly married woman was brutally murdered by slitting her throat. After the incident, Police arrested the boyfriend of the accused, Balveer, within 48 hours. Later, Balveer tried to escape the spot, but in retaliation, he was shot in his leg by Police. The accused has been hospitalized and soon strict action will be taken against him.
In another incident, in an encounter by a joint team of the Kotwali and Mahila Thana police in Robertsganj on October 9, three criminals were injured. Reportedly, the fourth accused escaped as per police. These criminals were accused of molesting a woman. During the operation, Police recovered several weapons, mobiles and around Rs 7000 cash.
Under the Operation Langda, on October 9, police arrested Rajnesh, a criminal with a bounty of Rs 25,000, in Auraiya district. The accused was charged with several cases of murder. According to the police, Rajnesh was trying to escape when police opened fire during the encounter. The accused was injured in retaliatory fire.
In another incident, on October 8, Iftekhar, a criminal from Kasganj with Rs 1 Lakh bounty, was killed in an encounter by the police in Bareilly. After the incident, criminals across West Uttar Pradesh are worried. Later, Prashant Kumar, the accused in the Saharanpur shooting, went to the police station himself and surrendered.
Yogi government's policy has given a clear message that if you want to stay in UP, you must give up crime, otherwise you will be held accountable immediately.
